An excellent quality cooking apple variety, Lord Derby (Malus domestica 'Lord Derby') has large, firm, apples which are an attractive, green colour with a distinctive ribbed angular shape. Cook early when green for a sharp taste.  Good for pies.  An old English apple variety, introduced in the 19th Century.
