An old English apple variety, first introduced in Derbyshire in the 19th Century, Newton Wonder (Malus domestica 'Newton Wonder') is a very late keeping apple variety. Its apples are an appealing yellow and scarlet colour and of a large size. They cook to make a juicy, mild purée. Later in season it makes a delicious fruity eating apple. Also good in salads.
