Scarlet (Malus toringo 'Scarlett') is a superb ‘all seasons flowering crab apple tree' combining good leaf, flower and fruiting features. The rich pink blossom contrasts well with the emerging purple, deeply lobed leaves which turn to dark green in the summer and then rich scarlet with purple tints in the autumn, very rare for a crab apple. The persistent small purple fruits remain long after leaf fall. First introduced in Denmark. A medium height tree, so expect a height of up to 6 metres (20 foot) after 10 years. This tree is supplied at a height of between 1.5 and 1.7 metres in a 12 litre container for year round planting and better results than from either bare-root or rootballed stock.
