Marjories Seedling plum (Prunus domestica 'Marjorie's Seedling) is a juicy, sweet flavoured, blue plum and is particularly good for those who want supplies of home-made jam. A fast-growing, disease resistant plum variety, so valuable, as there is little requirement for any chemicals to be used. We have found this variety to produce good, heavy crops of plums every year. This plum will act as a suitable pollination partner for plums in the flowering periods C2, C3 and C4. This variety of plum tree is supplied in a 12 litre container, which means that the tree can be planted any time of the year and with better results than either bare-root or rootballed trees. It is thought that the cause is physiological and has worsened due to the changing climate conditions. It is therefore recommended to plant healthy new season stock in late August through to the end of September to establish before the winter to minimise losses.
