| | FREE TREE WARRANTY As far as we can tell, as of 1st January 2009, we are the only UK tree supplier to offer a tree warranty. Should your tree fail for ANY reason in the first year, we will offer you a replacement at 40% discount. Obviously conditions apply so we can make sure the minority of "urine extractors" do not abuse our system.
| | | | NO BARE ROOT STOCK YET At the moment, we are NOT SELLING bare root due to their lower survival rates in the hands of novices (no offence but you have gained the nick name genocidal gardeners with good reason!)Once we have built an online training section for you, we will bring this range onto the website. Only available from October to March.
| | | | Tree Benefits What could a tree possibly give you back? Apart from the obvious oxygen, there are many benefits available to you.
Take fruit trees as an example. The obvious return here is the fruit but if you are looking for an attractive tree then the cherry blossom is particularly fetching and fragrant. If you have an interest in cooking or wine making then any of the fruit trees will give you the freshest, cheapest ingredients.
Other tree benefits include: - Great place to hang a swing.
- The kids will love climbing them.
- Adds colour and interest.
- Attract wildlife, especially birds.
- Can reduce water content in the soil.
- Trees can reduce soil erosion e.g. riverbanks.
- Reduce carbon footprint.
- Bio fuel.
- Use leaves as compost.
You may overlook planting hedges in your garden if you are unaware of the benefits they provide. These include:
- Privacy and noise reduction: Take a peak at the shrubs in volume section. (Important note, hedges only reduce not eliminate noise and this depends on the density of them)
- Security: Steal yourself across to the thorny shrubs section.
- DIY nature reserve: Attract birds and butterflies to your hedging.
- Windbreaker: Have delicate plants in your garden then protect them with a sturdy hedge.
- Resident ugly: Have a garden feature you don't like? Grow a hedge in front of it.
