An old English pear variety, first introduced in the 18th Century, Williams' Bon Cretien (Pyrus 'Williams' Bon Cretien') is an extremely good pear. The pears are medium to large in size and an appealing pale green colour turning later to an attractive golden yellow colour. Very juicy and sweet and with regular, good crops, Williams' Bon Cretien is a good choice of pear. Month of Picking: October Type of Pear: Eating Self-fertile/Not self-fertile: This pear is not self-fertile so it is necessary to have another pear for pollination This pear is in flowering period is C3. How to chose a suitable pollination partner: To make it easy to match this pear with a suitable pollination partner we have used a series of codes, which are C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 and relate to flowering periods. Every pear variety we sell will have one of these codes. The code we have given this pear tree means that you need to find another pear with the same code or one less or one more, so for example, if the pear is code C4, then another pear variety with code C3 or C5 would be suitable to act as a reliable pollination partner. This variety of pear tree is supplied in a 12 litre container, which means that the tree can be planted any time of the year and with better results than either bare-root or rootballed trees. Choosing the type of tree and rootstock: Semi-Vigorous Rootstock Quince A (Bush Type), supplied at a height of between 1.25 and 1.50 metres and the tree will reach an approximate height of 3.6 metres Free Message Card: We will include a free message card included if required. These also include details of planting and aftercare of your newly purchased tree. ENGRAVED LABELS (opens up in same window) are hugely popular. Got something nice to say? Then set it in copper. Your message can be engraved into an attractive copper label that stays with the tree. These will certainly last as long as the tree does and very useful to keep your sentiment alive every time the label is viewed. DRAWSTRING BAGS MAKE A DIFFERENCE (opens up in same window) will make your gift of a tree that little more special and what is more these drawstring bags can have a multitude of uses afterwards.
