Herman Plum Tree

Herman (Prunus domestica 'Herman') is the result of cross between plum varieties Czar x Ruth Gerstetter, this plum first being introduced in Sweden during 1990. A medium, blue-black coloured plum, it is very early, Easy Stone Removal, with golden flesh and of excellent eating quality. A week earlier than Czar and with improved flavour. Self fertile, therefore no need for a another plum to act as a pollination partner.

Month of Picking: Late July

Type of Plum: Eating

Fertility: This plum is self-fertile so there is no other plum is required for pollination.

This plum is in flowering period is C2 so our Herman plum tree will act as a suitable pollination partner for non-fertile plums in the flowering periods C1, C2 and C3.

This variety of plum tree is supplied in a 7-12 litre container, which means that the tree can be planted any time of the year and with better results than either bare-root or rootballed trees.

See What Our Customers Are Saying About Our Herman Plum Tree
Hi Alan, All arrived, one fig tree as a presenter my mum, she is delighted. The trees arrived as briefed, and are exactly as hoped. I have bought trees from other providers online and they have arrived looking as if they have travelled fro a long time and been kept in the dark, the guardian could look into this as a trees rights story. Your trees (Jordan fig, Czar and Hermana plum and Sunburst Cherry) arrived on time and perfect, thank you Frank G 0919

Important Plum Tree information

Plum fruit trees may not winter well if left in their containers and may die so you need to plant as soon as you get them especially if purchased between October and March. Keeping them protected in a heated conservatory or green house should solve this issue if you are not going to plant them.

Mirabelle Plum Pollination
Technically speaking it is possible to use Mirabelle plum trees to pollinate standard plum trees but has more risk than using a standard plum tree. If your plum tree is self-fertile, this of course is not an issue.

Planting In The Corner Of A Garden

Air and light is reduced in this location which could promote fungus and bacterial issues. Corners of houses and fences can also suffer leaching issues so we advise against it.
