Delivery Information
Trees Online supplies trees, hedging, fruit trees, ornamental trees, mature trees and related products to customers across mainland UK addresses.
Free delivery is included for eligible UK mainland addresses. Some postcode areas, courier surcharge areas, islands, remote locations and difficult delivery areas may require an additional delivery charge. If a surcharge applies, we will contact you before dispatch.
Where We Deliver
We deliver to mainland UK addresses only. Delivery may not be available to some islands, offshore locations, Northern Ireland, the EU or Channel Islands. Some Scottish Highland, Scottish Island, Grampian and Isle of Wight addresses may require a surcharge.
If we cannot deliver to your address on commercially reasonable terms, we may cancel the order and refund any payment received.
Delivery Times
Delivery times vary depending on the type of plant, supplier, season and courier availability. Typical lead times are:
- Cell grown plants 3-7 working days
- Small boxed plants: 2 to 4 weeks
- Larger potted trees: 2 to 5 weeks
- Special-order mature trees: 2 to 4 weeks
- Bare root plants: 2 to 4 weeks
Delivery dates are estimates only. Weather, supplier availability, courier delays, seasonal demand, traffic, access issues and other operational problems can affect delivery times.
Please do not arrange landscapers, contractors, equipment hire or planting work based only on an estimated delivery date.
How Orders Are Delivered
Orders may be delivered by parcel courier, specialist courier or pallet delivery, depending on the size, weight and nature of the goods.
Many trees are dispatched directly from our partner growers, nurseries and suppliers. This helps reduce unnecessary handling and allows plants to move from the supplier to the customer as efficiently as possible.
Retail orders are not delivered using our own Trees Online vehicles.
Kerbside Delivery
Kerbside delivery is standard, especially for larger trees, pallets and heavy items. This means the delivery is made to the nearest safe and accessible point at the delivery address, not necessarily into the garden, through the house, up steps or across difficult ground.
Pallets, packaging and delivery materials left with the order are the customer’s responsibility to dispose of or reuse.
Delivery Access
Please make sure your delivery address is complete and accurate. Customers should tell us before dispatch about any access restrictions, narrow roads, low bridges, steep drives, restricted parking, locked gates, difficult turning areas or other delivery issues.
If access is unsuitable, restricted, unsafe or materially different from what was disclosed, delivery may fail. Redelivery, cancellation or return costs may apply where the problem is caused by customer access or incorrect delivery information.
If You Are Not At Home
You do not usually need to be at home for delivery. Unless you tell us otherwise before dispatch, goods may be left in a safe or sensible place where the courier considers it reasonable to do so.
Please check your order as soon as possible after delivery, especially during hot, cold or wet weather.
When Your Tree Arrives
Unpack your tree promptly, check its condition and water it if needed. Trees are living plants and should not be left boxed, wrapped or dry for longer than necessary.
Tree appearance varies by season, variety, supplier batch and plant type. Deciduous trees may arrive without leaves during the dormant season, and blossom or fruit is only present at certain times of year.
Damaged Deliveries
If your tree or plant arrives damaged, contact us within 2 days of delivery. Please include clear photos of the plant, the damage and the packaging so we can assess the issue quickly.
Damage in transit is dealt with separately from the Tree Warranty.
Special-Order and Mature Trees
Large mature trees and special-order items may be sourced specifically for your order from UK or European growers and suppliers. These orders can involve grower reservation, transport booking, pallet space, handling and other costs before dispatch.
If you need a large tree for a specific date or project, contact us before ordering so we can advise on availability and delivery feasibility.
