Our cheap 1-year-old cell grown plants are one of the easiest, fastest and lowest-risk ways to establish laurel hedging, and they can be planted for most of the year. They require less digging and carry less establishment risk than bare-root alternatives, while the low price makes it practical to order around 10% extra and pot them up as replacements for any future gaps.
These laurel shrubs are ideal when you want dense evergreen screening without waiting for a deciduous hedge to leaf up each spring. Prunus laurocerasus hedging gives fast, broad-leaved cover and performs well in sun or shade, while Prunus lusitanica hedging has smaller, darker leaves and clips into a neater, more formal finish. Both respond well to regular trimming and can be maintained at the height you need, making either a practical laurel privacy hedge.
