An evergreen yew hedge provides dense, year-round screening and remains well covered at the base. Yew tolerates shade and most well-drained soils, clips neatly into a formal yew hedge, and can recover from hard pruning if it becomes overgrown. Its steady growth requires less frequent trimming than faster conifers, while its exceptional longevity makes yew screening plants a lasting alternative to fencing.
