Our cheap 1-year-old cell grown plants are one of the easiest, fastest and lowest-risk ways to establish cherry plum hedging, and they can be planted for most of the year. They require less digging than bare-root alternatives, while the low price makes it practical to order around 10% extra and pot them up as replacements for any future gaps.
This cell grown hedging develops into dense, low-maintenance cover with white to pale-pink flowers appearing early in spring, often before the leaves. As the hedge saplings mature, they can produce edible yellow-red cherry plums without needing a separate pollination partner, while the blossom and fruit provide food for bees, birds and other wildlife.
