Latin Names
The list below gives the Latin name. If you only have the common name e.g.English Oak then a Google search will tell you the Latin name, i.e. Quercus Robur. Failing that contact us.

Girth Measurements
The 6-8cm and 8-10cm measurements indicate girth. A measurement taken around 1m from ground level, tells you the circumference of the tree and the best indicator of age i.e. value for money. Each 1 cm is very aproximately 30cm of growth for many trees except slow growing ones. A 6-8cm girth tree will be around 180-240cm tall and 8-10cm around 240-300cm. Some 8-10cm trees are around 400cm.

Anything listed as clear stem indicate they are "standards" with around 180-200cm of clear stem giving you a conventional lollipop shape.

Feathered Measurements
Anything listed with "Feathered" in it means the tree is well branched for most to all of the trunk length. Still the same tree just been pruned a little differently. The mesurements for feathered trees show the distance between ground level to the tips of the tallest branches.

Air and light is reduced in this location which could promote fungus and bacterial issues. If the corner is of the house and a fence then you also have leeching issues to contend with from cement and wood preservatives. Also when it rains, that area would experience higher water levels so we advise against it unless the plant is very hardy.

1 Year Maiden Bare Root Trees
If you plant a 1 Year maiden tree and do not prune it at all, it will grow a little more upright and have more clear stem.

It is more important that that foliage (posh term for leaves) receives the sunlight than the roots.

Have good drainage as water and no sun is the start of algae and other issues.
