A lovely small tree, The Bride (Prunus is actually a hybrid (cross) of a variety of P. incisa. The Bride is quite a distinctive tree, with lovely white flowers and striking red anthers in April. We recommend The Bride for any situation.
A small height tree, so expect a height of up to 4 metres (13 foot) after 10 years.
The Bride is supplied at a height of between 1.2 and 2.4 metres in a 7-15 litre container for year round planting and better results than from either bare-root or rootballed stock.
The supplied height range is quite large because it depends when in the year you buy them, what size pots they have been put into and several other factors that affect the growth rate of our Prunus The Bride.
Message card included at no additional cost if required. Just add the information required on the card at checkout.

180-240cm : Half Standard shape and supplied in the height range listed. Comes in a 7-15 litre container.
Half Standard shape refers to how our The Bride flowering cherry tree has been pruned in the early years. It means roughly half the length of trunk is free from foliage and branches which gives it a sort of lollipop shape. For the very picky armed with a tape measure and a die hard enthusiasm to prove people wrong, it is highly likely our cherry tree will be delivered and it not be exactly half. This is because the world of horticulture and Mother Nature do not work to British Standards or EU regulation. We are reasonably sure that when Mother Nature appears in corporeal form she will be hauled in front of some MP select committee and be made to provide answers as to her non-uniform and random approach to plant growth. Until then, customers with twitchy tape measure finger need to chill out and accept that for now, she runs free from justice and regulation.

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with both the condition of the trees (Kursar and The Bride) and the quality of the packaging. Well done! Best wishes, Peter 0716
Ornamental Tree Topping
All ornamental trees (not vines) are topped at 1.3 metres to encourage a natural ornamental tree shape with obvious exceptions e.g. patio sizes. This means that your tree was pruned during the growing process and then allowed to grow to the size it is now supplied at.

Ornamental Tree Roots In The Shade e.g. Behind A Fence
It is more important that that foliage (posh term for leaves) receives the sunlight than the roots. So if the canopy of your ornamental tree can sunbathe but the bottom of your tree thinks there has been a nuclear winter then that is ok. You might want to ensure you have good drainage as water and no sun is the start of algae and other such issues.
Do I Need To Stake My Ornamental Tree?
9 out of 10 times the answer will be no, especially if under 200cm tall. However our article on Tree Staking should help guide you.
Fruit On Ornamental Cherry Trees
The fruits you get are small and inedible and barely noticeable.
Cheaper Ornamental Cherry Trees
There are cheaper cherry trees out there but you need to make sure that they are the same height and age, VAT and delivery is included in the display price, comes with a FREE TREE WARRANTY, certified virus free, UK grown and not cheaper EU imports used to better weather. A less expensive tree that dies is not cheaper.
If you get all that, let us know, we will try to price match.
