Syringa Vulgaris Sensation

Possibly so named because it can help you with many sensations. If you want to feel the sensation of falling, this is a good tree to jump out of as it is quite small. Should you feel a burning sensation in the Summer, this can provide shade and if you get a tickling sensation on your neck or face it might be time to prune. If you want to feel the sensation of flowering in May, then this is the ideal tree for you.

Considered to be a heavily scented tree, has the RHS Award Of Garden Merit and is chalk tolerant.

Expect height to be around 4 metres at the 10-year point.

Planting Syringa Sensation
Plant in a full-sun position in well drained fertile soils.

Pruning Syringa Vulgaris Sensation
Replacement pruning is the preferred method for this tree and this is when you lightly prune to promote new growth.

This tree / shrub is supplied in a pot for year-round planting and better results than from either bare-root or rootballed stock.

Message card included at no additional cost if required. Just add the information required on the card at checkout.

See What Our Customers Are Saying About Our Syringa vulgaris Sensation

No one has written a review for this Lilac tree yet, mostly because we have not asked them to write one, but if they did we are pretty sure it would say nice things about the author of this article and how close he is to.......his clothes.

Ornamental Tree Roots In The Shade e.g. Behind A Fence
It is more important that that foliage (posh term for leaves) receives the sunlight than the roots. So if the canopy of your ornamental tree can sunbathe but the bottom of your tree thinks there has been a nuclear winter then that is ok. You might want to ensure you have good drainage as water and no sun is the start of algae and other such issues.

Do I Need To Stake My Ornamental Tree?
Our article on Tree Staking should help guide you.

Planting In The Corner Of A Garden
Air and light is reduced in this location which could promote fungus and bacterial issues. If the corner is of the house and a fence then you also have leeching issues to contend with from cement and wood preservatives. Also when it rains, that area would experience higher water levels so we advise against it unless the plant is very hardy.
